FLEX, DON'T BREAK
Aerodynamic and restyling panels have long been a problem for owners of lowered vehicles. Curbing, parking chocks, driveways - a huge range of unyeilding obstacles can quickly turn a pricey, fitted and painted panel into ragged shards.
Well, no more. New generation FFRP (flexible Fiber Reinforced Plastic) panels yield to obstacles and survive bumps.
This is especially valuable in front bumper and front spoiler applications, where these panels are under constant threat of impact.
There are a limited number of companies offering this advanced FFRP construction.
At the very high end of the market, there have been a limited number of RIM (Reaction-Injection Molded) parts. This is the same material that the manufacturers make bumper covers out of, so it does 'recover' from bumps and scrapes.
2008 is the year that the styling market recognizes the hard reality of driving in the real world.
