Taylor Equipped Meyers Sprint Car Wins Missouri High-Banked Nationals

Arriving at the US 36 Raceway in Osborn, Missouri, World of Outlaws sprint car driver Jason Meyers got his first-ever glimpse of the high-banked, 3/8 mile clay oval. The Second Annual Missouri High-Banked Nationals featured a standing-room only crowd, and Meyers and the Elite Racing, Elite Landscaping, with Garrett Racing Engines power team did not disappoint. Clicking off the fifth-fastest qualifying lap and following that up with a second-place finish in his heat, Meyers and crew chief DJ Lindsey were quickly getting the setup figured out on their Maxim Chassis.

Starting on the pole for the A-Main event put Meyers in a great position to set the pace early. With several cautions late in the 40-lap feature event, the final one came with three laps to go with veteran competitor Tim Kaeding running second. Meyers put his elbows up, got a great restart and pulled to a straight-away advantage, beating Kaeding to the checkered flag.

"I knew that we had a good race car, but after seeing on the line-up board that Tim had made it to second, I also knew that I had to have a good restart," said Meyers. "I didn't know that we pulled away like that until after the race--that credit goes to the crew and the great race car that they gave me."

Preparing to kick off a ten-day stretch that will see the World of Outlaws compete seven times, Meyers and the Elite Racing Team are aligned and ready to win. With their first east-coast swing starting, the Outlaws will run at famed tracks like Lernerville Speedway, Williams Grove, Grandview Speedway and finally at the Dirt Track at Lowe's Motor Speedway, which will serve as a warm-up for the first-ever Outlaws World Finals held there in November. "In years past, the point's leader at the end of May is typically the leader at season's end," said Meyers. "I think the schedule has changed a little, so that may differ this year, but this first swing through Pennsylvania is one of the most important deciding factors in the entire season, no matter what the schedule layout is."

Jason Meyers and the Elite Racing team travel full-time on the World of Outlaws Sprint Car tour with support from Elite Landscaping, Primerica Financial, GLR Investments, Team Worldwide, Carbon Raptor, Ridgeline Framing, Maxim Chassis and Garrett Racing Engines, among many other supporters, such as Taylor Cable Products.
