It's almost here, the most mind-blowing, nail-biting motor sport entertainment experience in the world, the D1 GRAND PRIX POINTS SERIES, SEASON OPENER at Irwindale Speedway on Saturday, March 4th, 2006. This event will feature the highest level of professional drifting from 200 of the best D1 licensed drivers the world over including:
 Yasuyuki Kazama, the 2005 D1 Series Champion, and Vaughn Gitten Jr., winner of the 2005 ALL STAR EXHIBITION MATCH on December 17 th, 2005. Vaughn realized the hopes and dreams of all American drifters by becoming the first American to reign victorious at a D1 sponsored event.
"It has always been my vision to bring drifting to the entire world," says Daijiro Inada, founder of the D1 Grand Prix and Option Magazine. "Vaughn's victory proves that if you work hard and strike a perfect balance between machine and driver, anybody can be a D1 Champion. The entire drifting community should be proud of his historic achievement."
The 2006 D1 season is poised to be the most exciting yet, highlighted by exhibition battles in Shanghai China on June 4th and 5th, at the Silverstone Race Circuit in the UK on June 17th and 18th, and in Las Vegas Nevada July 14th and 15th. It all culminates into the action packed, edge of your seat SEASON FINALE taking place in the USA in December 2006, THE D1 GRAND PRIX WORLD SERIES crowning one driver and one driver alone as the single best professional drifter in the world!!!!
Remember at D1, the fans pay for the entire seat but they only use the edge of it, as they beg Tsuchiya to let the drivers battle "ONE MORE TIME! ONE MORE TIME! ONE MORE TIME!"
