Biggest PRI Ever

The 2006 PRI show in Orlando Florida was the best-attended PRI yet. With 1,400 companies and nearly 50,000 attendees, it showcased advances in all areas of racing technology.

From drag racing to oval track to road racing, all aspects of motorsport were covered. NASCAR was so well represented that we heard only about 150 people were left back home in Mooresville NC!

One of our favorite items was a virtual racecar setup by Virtual-E Corp. that could be custom-matched to the physics of an individual race car, and that could be "driven" on any of dozens of tracks around the world. It was a sort of super version of a videogame, with controls and responses so accurate that it is in use by several world-class race teams. We'll have to wait until the price comes down from $17,000 before we can put one in the den.
