| Description: | Fidanza has expanded its new line of performance twin-disc clutches with applications for the Nissan 350Z and Infiniti G35 and G37.
Fidanza twin-disc clutches dispel the notion that creature comfort must be sacrificed for clamping force. They are engineered to tackle up to 900 lbs.-ft. torque while stock pedal pressure is virtually unchanged and engagement feels as smooth as a typical Stage 3 single-disc clutch.
"These Nissan and Infiniti vehicles are popular platforms for extreme horsepower enhancements," noted Bob Scheid, vice president, Fidanza. "But all that power is only beneficial if you can harness it properly, which is precisely why we've engineered these new twin-disc units."
Using smaller 8 3/4" diameter discs, Fidanza has carefully controlled the rotating mass of its clutches - while maintaining a sizeable surface area for optimum gripping power - which perform better due to their relative low moment of inertia. As a result, the transmission is able to rev faster, which allows for rapidly matched transmission shifts. As well, Fidanza has strapped the floater plate on all of its clutches to eliminate the annoying rattle twin-disc units are known for.
Fidanza twin-disc clutch kits include the pressure plate, floater plate and twin-discs as well as a lightweight Fidanza performance flywheel. Stage 1 (650 lbs.-ft.) and Stage 2 (900 lbs.-ft.) kits are available. Best of all, there is only one part number to reference per kit, making selection a quick and easy process.
Fidanza has already introduced twin-disc clutch applications for the C5 and C6 Corvette (5.7L; 6.0L; 7.0L), 1998-2002 Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird (5.7L) and 2004-2006 Pontiac GTO (5.7L; 6.0L), as well as the 1986-1995 (302 5.0L), 1996-2004 (4.6L GT; Mach I; Bullit; Cobra) and 2005-2007 (4.6L GT) Ford Mustang.
Standard clutches are also available from Fidanza for the 350Z, G35 and G37 in four different levels of performance (2.1; 3.2; 4.3; 5.4), from mild to wild, to complement driver habits and the performance level of the vehicle.
